About the treatment

Fractional Mesotherapy is a treatment that renews the skin inside and outside. It also combines the functions of microneedling therapy with the contemporary Mesotherapy practice. Since the 1990’s, microneedle therapy has long been used by practitioners in the form of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), to fade scars and generally as an anti-ageing treatment. Recently smaller size microneedles have been recognised for their capacity to dramatically increase the bioavailability of topical treatments and further enhance their transcutaneous absorption.

Hydra Pen is a new device for fractional mesotherapy. Hydra Pen microneedles produce microdamage to the epidermis, which leads to the production of collagen and elastin and enhances cellular renewal. The needles form channels in the skin, which provides the penetration of more than 80% of the product into the skin (with the regular application, only 3-5% of the product is absorbed), this nourishes the skin cells with the necessary substances for its beauty.

In order to have a better result, before the procedure, the product used with the pen needs to be prepared and chosen carefully. On top of that, fractional mesotherapy treatment makes the drug enter the skin much deeper and faster which gives greater effect.

Hydra Pen in combination with well-chosen cosmetics can improve skin tone, get rid of pigmentation, shrink skin pores and stop hair loss (baldness). Hydra Pen helps to cope with a variety of skin problems. The usage of Hydra Pen is effective in the treatment of wrinkles, scars, post-acne and stretch marks. During the procedure, channels are formed on the skin, which provides the penetration of cosmetic products by over 80%. After recovery, the result of the procedure lasts for a long time.

The Fractional Mesotherapy technique is an advanced treatment, one which SkinRx Aesthetic Clinic is expertly trained in.

Pioneer of this new style of treatment, SkinRx exceeds client expectations with their unique method of treating each client as an individual, blending bespoke cocktails, masks, serums and creams. By personalising each client’s treatment and focusing directly on their individual requirements and concerns the results are at a level that has never been seen before.

Mesotherapy is a popular option for clients seeking an alternative treatment to dermal fillers or wrinkle relaxing injections. Mesotherapy can also be incorporated into current treatment plans for clients who are receiving these treatments and would like further rejuvenation in other areas of their face, neck and décolleté.

How does the Hydra Pen Mesotherapy work?

Hydra pen is a  pen-like device that has a plastic handle with the cartridge. The number of needles in the cartridge unit is 12 pcs. When the device is turned on, the needles in the cartridge begin the reciprocating motion with a frequency of 3000 punctures/min to 5500 punctures/min. Due to this motion, little punctures in the skin are evenly distributed. Through the punctures, the drug penetrates into the deep layers of the skin which leads to the activation process in the skin. Moreover, skin injury activates enhanced skin regeneration and renewal; hence, the lifting and smoothing effects are achieved.

FAQ’s

How does Fractional Mesotherapy works?

Hydra pen device used in fractional mesotherapy produces thousands of micro-needle columns in the skin, which in turn stimulates the skin to naturally regenerate and repair itself. The holes close up quickly while your skin’s natural processes are kick-started under the surface. As part of this stimulation new collagen can be formed, new skin cells generated and the structure of the dermis, the lower level of the skin, enhanced. This natural process takes time, so it can take up to six weeks before you see significant results. Although the process will continue over the following months, several treatments are usually required. The results are not only smoother, brighter rejuvenated skin, but it can also lead to an improvement in appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.

How quickly are results visible?

Visible results of skin rejuvenation are generally seen after just 6-8 weeks following procedure and improve further over time. Although the process will continue over the following months, several treatments are usually required. The results are not only smoother, brighter rejuvenated skin, but it can also lead to an improvement in appearance of acne scars and stretch marks. A course of 4-6 treatments is usually recommended to achieve optimum results; however, skin improvement is noticeable after just one treatment. To improve the appearance of acne scarring further treatments may be necessary. The number of treatments needed vary from patient to patient and depends on each individual’s skin condition or ailment.

Am I suitable for Fractional Mesotherapy treatment?

Hydra Pen is suitable for all skin types and treats a range of skin concerns effectively. Skin needling is especially effective for ageing concerns such as wrinkles, lines, folds, crow’s feet, scars, acne scars and stretch marks. Because collagen is produced, scars and stretch marks can also improve from treatments especially indented acne scars.

The needles form channels in the skin, which provides the penetration of more than 80% of the product into the skin (with the regular application, only 3-5% of the product is absorbed), this nourishes the skin cells with the necessary substances for its beauty. General lack of skin radiance, skin firmness and compactness are also an indication for skin needling treatments and visible improvements can be seen.

How long does the treatment take?

Fractional Mesotherapy is 60 minutes treatment available only at medical clinics.

Does the treatment hurt?

Prior to your treatment, numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area making the experience comfortable and virtually pain free.

Can fractional mesotherapy treat all skin types?

Yes! All skin types can be safely and successfully treated with Hydra Pen. Results and expectations can be discussed during your first consultation.

How often should I do fractional mesotherapy?

Depending on the depth of needles used will depend the frequency of treatment

  • Nano: weekly
  • 0.25mm; weekly
  • 0.5mm over 2 to 3 weeks
  • 1mm every 4 to 6 weeks

When using short needles of nano – 0.25mm for the procedure, a repeated session can be performed in a week, if using longer needles – the session can be repeated in a month.

For the purpose of prophylaxis for normal skin without visible defects – 3 sessions (enough),

For the pigmentation treatment – from 8 sessions and more

For the scars and stretch marks treatment – from 10 sessions and more.

Fractional mesotherapy can be safely repeated until you achieve the desired results!

What can I expect after my treatment?

After treatment your skin will be red and flushed in appearance, comparable to mild sunburn. You will also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the treated area but this will diminish greatly after a few hours. After 3-5 days, there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place. Allow time off if required. Your skin may also appear more dry than normal with mild flakiness for the 7-14 days.

Is the treatment safe?

Fractional mesotherapy is extremely safe for all skin types. Skin needling procedures are performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of the sterile Hydra Pen needle vials.

What are the benefits of Hydra Pen fractional mesotherapy?

  • Precision: Round areas, like those around the eyes, nose and upper lip, are harder to treat with the dermal roller, whereas the Hydra Pen narrower handpiece can easily treat these areas.
  • Adjustable Speed & Length: Hydra Pen sterile, disposable needle vials are available in different needle lengths to cater for different areas of the face or body that require different penetration levels for the best results.
  • Minimal Downtime: Traditionally skin needling has been performed with a Derma roller. While effective in its old form, the needles would penetrate the skin at an angle causing more side effects and therefore greater recovery time.
  • Less Skin Damage: Hydra Pen penetrates the skin from 3000 punctures/min to 5500 punctures/min.
  • The needles in the Hydra Pen penetrate the skin vertically, at a depth between 0.25mm- 1mm, depending on the area being treated and with an adjustable speed – minimising skin damage, pain and recovery time.
  • Safe for all skin types
  • Fast: visible results for acne scarring, fine lines and body contouring
  • An effective alternative to laser resurfacing

Hydra Pen vs M Pen Microneedling

  • The traditional M Pen penetrates the skin and the essence needs to be applied manually by the aesthetician. However, Hydra Pen is fitted with a containable needle cartridge where the essence is penetrated automatically into the skin during the application process.
  • This function greatly improves the efficiency and final outcome of the treatment.
  • This application helps the penetration of more than 80% serum ingredients directly into the skin which is far more than if the serum is applied manually.
  • One hand operation advantage.
  • One cartridge has a capacity of 3ml of the serum which is an ideal amount for one treatment.
